Paraíba and the Christmas bonus: what the legislation determines
An additional bonus will benefit families in Paraíba participating in this important social project. According to September data, around 695,000 people in Paraíba are enrolled in the Bolsa Família program.
Law No. 12,802, enacted on October 6, introduced changes to the regulation that defines the Christmas bonus. The original law (Law No. 9,973, of April 25, 2013) was already amended last year to include payment of the Auxílio Brasil Christmas bonus.
According to the publication in the Official Gazette of Paraíba, the Christmas bonus will benefit those registered with Bolsa Família who “regularly receive the benefit in the indicated reference month”.

The Christmas bonus will amount to R$ 64.00 per beneficiary and will be credited to the accounts according to the Bolsa Família schedule during December. Currently, 695,418 families in Paraíba are entitled to this crucial benefit.
Last year, approximately 677,000 families from 223 municipalities in Paraíba received the Auxílio Brasil Christmas bonus, also worth R$ 64.00.
The credits were made between December 12 and 23. In addition, beneficiaries can withdraw the funds at Caixa branches, lottery outlets, or Caixa Aqui correspondent locations throughout Brazil.
To withdraw the benefit, those selected must show a photo ID, such as RG or CNH, and also carry their CPF and Social Identification Number Card.
Bolsa Família and Christmas bonus schedule this year

Although December is approaching, the government has already defined the Bolsa Família calendar. Following the usual routine, the government brings forward the payment of the last annual installment, ensuring that all families receive it before the Christmas and New Year holidays.
In 2023, the December payment of Bolsa Família will begin on 11/12 for the NIS 1 group and run until 22/12 for the NIS 0 group. These dates will also guide the payment of the Christmas bonus next year.
