Recently, the Federal Government announced its intention to make an extraordinary Bolsa Família payment.
According to information from the Ministry of Social Development (MDS), this special action will take the form of an advance on the amounts usually granted. Thus, on this occasion, the benefit will assist families in 50 different municipalities.
Therefore, the extraordinary Bolsa Família payment will begin on October 18, a Wednesday. This advance will allow 640,106 families to withdraw the amounts earlier.

The main reason for this measure was to provide assistance to families in Amazonas. Currently, the state is facing a declared state of emergency.
With this action, the main idea is to provide vital support to vulnerable families, facilitating access to Bolsa Família resources.
Beneficiaries will receive their payments routinely, based on the last digit of their Social Identification Number (NIS).

Who is entitled to Bolsa Família?
First of all, it is worth highlighting that Bolsa Família aims to support families in vulnerable situations. The program assists families in need, promoting health and education and reducing poverty in Brazil.
However, to take advantage of the benefits, families must meet certain requirements. They must also fulfill specific commitments, especially in the areas of health and education.
In terms of health, pregnant women must constantly monitor their prenatal care to ensure their own health and that of the fetus.
It is essential that all families follow the national vaccination schedule. In this way, they ensure that their members, especially children, are vaccinated.
Another Bolsa Família requirement is nutritional monitoring. The nutritional health of children under 7 years old must be monitored frequently to prevent and treat nutritional problems.
As for education, children aged 4 to 5 need to have at least 60% school attendance. Meanwhile, those aged 6 to under 18 who have not yet completed basic education need a minimum attendance rate of 75%.
In addition, families must keep their data updated in the Cadastro Único every 24 months at most.
Keeping data updated ensures that Bolsa Família serves those who truly need it and promotes effective communication between the government and beneficiaries.
Disobeying these rules may lead to suspension or termination of the benefit.
Municipalities and dates for the extraordinary benefit
The current drought in Amazonas is becoming the worst ever recorded. So far, 60 of 62 municipalities have faced serious consequences from this drought.

Given this, the Federal Government mobilized to help, including the payment of the Extraordinary Bolsa Família benefit to those most affected.
In total, 50 municipalities will receive the benefit, including:

- Alvarães;
- Amaturá;
- Anamã;
- Anori;
- Atalaia do Norte;
- Barreirinha;
- Benjamin Constant;
- Beruri;
- Boa Vista do Ramos;
- Boca do Acre;
- Borba;
- Caapiranga;
- Carauari;
- Careiro da Várzea;

Bolsa Família payments will follow the order of the last digit of the NIS throughout October. For example, those with NIS ending in 1 will receive payment on the 18th, while those ending in 2 will receive it on the 19th, and so on.
