Bolsa Família Beneficiaries Receive Payments Without Calendar Restrictions

The Bolsa Família Program, an initiative of the federal government, aims to combat inequality and poverty in Brazil, providing financial support to vulnerable families, to ensure adequate food and access to fundamental services, such as health and education.

Intended for families in extreme poverty, with a monthly per capita income of up to R$ 89.00, and those in poverty, with a per capita income between R$ 89.01 and R$ 178.00 per month, Bolsa Família has variable values, depending on the number of people in the family, age and composition.

Bolsa Família payments are made monthly, following the schedule set by the federal government. Beneficiaries use a Bolsa Família Card, a magnetic card that allows them to withdraw the benefit at Caixa branches, lottery outlets or ATMs.

Advance payment of Bolsa Família

In situations of public calamity, such as natural disasters, the federal government has the possibility of advancing the payment of Bolsa Família to affected families, aiming to provide immediate support in times of urgent need.

This year, the government brought forward the payment of Bolsa Família to 97 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul affected by a cyclone, allowing immediate access to program resources for beneficiary families, regardless of the regular calendar.

Benefit consultation and movement

Beneficiary families can consult information about Bolsa Família and move funds through different channels provided by Caixa Econômica Federal. In addition to the Bolsa Família Card, there is the CAIXA Tem app, which allows you to make purchases in commercial establishments and pay water, electricity, telephone and bills, in addition to making transfers through Pix.
