Gas Aid: new value comes into effect in 2024; understand

One change is expected to happen next year: a reduction in the amount for the next month. According to the government's announcement, from 2024 onwards, the value of the installment should decrease, reaching 50% of the price of a 13kg gas cylinder.

Previous payments

It is important to note that this benefit covers more than 5.4 million families throughout Brazil. The granting occurs every two months, with the last one being in October. In this context, there is great expectation regarding the amount to be made available in this next installment. The exact amount expected for February is not yet known, but the amount will be only 50%.

However, in December, the benefit considered 100% of the national average price of a 13kg gas cylinder, therefore, this value was R$ 104.

How to avoid the suspension of Gas Aid?

Keeping data updated in the Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) is crucial to avoid suspension of the Gas Aid. Thus, this registry, managed by the federal government, is the source of information that determines eligibility and payment of the benefit.

In other words, anyone who does not update their data runs the imminent risk of losing their benefits. Therefore, it is essential to carry out updates whenever there are changes in family composition, income or other relevant data.
