The Gas Aid payment in 2024 will be made only in February. This benefit, granted every two months, had its last installment distributed in December. Thus, despite this bimonthly characteristic, payments will follow the schedule already defined for Bolsa Família.
There will be an important change in the amount provided in the following month. Therefore, according to a government announcement, the aid amount in 2024 will be reduced, representing 50% of the cost of a 13kg gas cylinder.

February schedule
It is important to note that the Gas Aid schedule will continue to follow Bolsa Família next year. Thus, see the complete schedule for the February benefit:
- Final NIS 1 – February 16;
- Final NIS 2 – February 19;
- Final NIS 3 – February 20;
- Final NIS 4 – February 21;
- Final NIS 5 – February 22;
- Final NIS 6 – February 23;
- Final NIS 7 – February 26
- Final NIS 8 – February 27;
- Final NIS 9 – February 28;
- Final NIS 0 – February 29.
Who is eligible for Auxílio Gás?
To be eligible for Auxílio Gás, applicants must meet certain criteria. They must:
- Have an active registration in the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico);
- Have a per capita family income of up to half the minimum wage (R$ 606) or a total family income that does not exceed three minimum wages.
There is also a possibility of eligibility for families with an income above three minimum wages, provided they are enrolled in income-transfer programs at any level of government.
In addition, the program establishes payment priorities, giving preference to families with lower incomes, a larger number of members, and those already receiving Auxílio Brasil, for example.
Previous payments
It is worth noting that this benefit covers more than 5.4 million families throughout Brazil. Therefore, it is granted every two months, with the most recent payment having been made in October. In this context, there is great anticipation surrounding the amount to be made available in the next installment.
As usual, the installment amount is calculated based on 100% of the national average price of a 13 kg gas cylinder. Therefore, in December, this amount is estimated at R$ 104.
