INSS retirees and pensioners need to be aware of an important change to the May 2024 payment schedule. Due to the May 1st holiday, Labor Day, there will be no payments on this date.
How the schedule change works
- When a national holiday coincides with INSS payment dates, as on Labor Day, the schedule is adjusted to ensure that all beneficiaries receive their payments;
- No one receives payments on May 1st because the banks are closed, making in-person withdrawals impossible;
- To compensate, the payment schedule is extended, ending later than originally planned.
INSS payment schedule for May
The INSS payment schedule is organized according to the last digit of the benefit number, which can be found on the withdrawal card, in the Meu INSS app, or on the payment statement.
- First week: Exclusively for those receiving the INSS national minimum;
- From the second week onward: Payments for all beneficiaries, both those receiving the minimum and those whose payments exceed this amount.

How to check your INSS payment?
In addition to your regular salary, this month you will also receive the first installment of the thirteenth salary, an extra benefit that provides financial relief at the end of the year.
But how much will you receive? Don't worry, calculating the amount is easy! We'll explain step by step how to calculate it and show you how to check the exact amount and deposit date on Meu INSS.
Calculate your 13th salary amount:
- Access Meu INSS: Access the website of Meu INSS;
- Log in with your password;
- Go to “Statements”: In the main menu, look for the “Statements” option;
- Select “Payment statement”: In the “Statements” tab, choose the “Payment statement” option.
- Filter by month/year: Use the filter to select the month “December” of the previous year (e.g.: December 2023).
Done! The amount of your 13th salary will be available in the statement, along with details of your income from the previous year.
In addition to the amount, you can also check the exact deposit date of the 13th salary on Meu INSS. To do this, follow the same steps above and locate the information in the payment statement.
