The federal government offers various benefits to the more than 87 million Brazilians who have enrolled in the Cadastro Único. Check it out!

Currently, the Cadastro Único for Federal Government Social Programs, known as CadÚnico, has 33.7 million registered families. Of these, 52% live in extreme poverty, 9% are in poverty, 19% are low-income families, and 20% have an income higher than half the minimum wage (R$ 660.00).

Thus, the assistance benefits offered by the federal government reach more than 83.5 million Brazilians through CadÚnico. Among the best-known benefits are Bolsa Família, the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC), and the National Gas Aid.

In addition to the benefits mentioned above, CadÚnico is the gateway to many other social programs. Here are some examples:

• Social Electricity Tariff: Beneficiaries can receive discounts on their electricity bill, ranging from 10% to 65% depending on the family's consumption. This benefit is granted automatically to those who are eligible, with no need to apply.
• Popular telephone: Families registered with CadÚnico may benefit from special conditions for landline telephone services through Telefone Popular. The monthly subscription is around R$ 15.00, varying according to the taxes established in each region and by each service provider.
• Elderly Person's Card: The Elderly Person's Card guarantees free interstate transportation or a 50% discount on ticket prices for citizens aged 60 and over.
• Exemption from public examination fees: Those whose CadÚnico information is up to date are entitled to an exemption from registration fees for federal public examinations.
• Minha Casa, Minha Vida: People registered with CadÚnico have access to Tier 1 of the federal government's housing program, with more affordable interest rates and a discount of up to 95% on the property price.
• Water for All: Just as with the electricity bill, it is possible to obtain discounts on the water bill through CadÚnico.

How to register with CadÚnico?

To register with CadÚnico, you must appear in person at a unit of the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) in the city where you live. The family representative must bring the documents of all family members who live in the same household, including their CPF and proof of residence (preferably an electricity bill).

It is important to remember that, to continue having access to social programs, you must update your registration every two years at the CRAS, presenting the documents mentioned above, if you are already registered with CadÚnico.
