Find out why Bolsa Família payments for beneficiary families may be interrupted and what measures can be taken to remedy this problem!
Starting this Friday (16), Bolsa Família recipients may face an interruption in payments. The interruption will likely affect those who did not complete the mandatory nutritional monitoring in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro. The deadline for completing this process was Thursday (15).

The Municipal Departments of Health and Social Assistance and Human Rights, through the city government, called on families with children under 7, women, and pregnant women. The monitoring, which was the first opportunity of the year, has been available since January at various facilities in the region.
Bolsa Família suspension: what is the reason?
In summary, beneficiaries who did not undergo monitoring at the facilities in Duque de Caxias risk being excluded from Bolsa Família. This happens because the social program imposes conditions in the areas of health, education, and social assistance.
Regarding health criteria, families must follow the vaccination schedule and monitor the growth and development of children up to 7 years old. In addition, the program also monitors pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Therefore, when families fail to meet these requirements, beneficiaries may face sanctions that increase with each identified violation. Initially, the benefit is blocked, but if other irregularities persist, suspension and cancellation may occur.
Will there be another opportunity for beneficiaries?
In Duque de Caxias, monitoring takes place twice a year. Therefore, beneficiaries need to report to a health unit between January and June and, subsequently, from July to December.
Thus, those who did not attend during the first phase of the year will have another chance to fulfill the conditions in the second half of the year, respecting the established deadline. On this occasion, the city government and departments may request the following documents:
Bolsa Família card;
Children's vaccination record;
Pregnant woman's record.
