Recently, the Minha Casa Minha Vida (MCMV) program released a news for beneficiaries: exemption from program installments. Therefore, there is no longer any need to pay property installments.
In addition, some Brazilians were drawn and won apartments from the program in Maceió. These people must sign the contracts this Tuesday (24), see more details of the project.
Who won the Minha Casa Minha Vida apartments?
According to the city of Maceió, around 80% of the people who will sign the contract are women who are victims of domestic violence or heads of households. In addition, some of the people have disabilities or are in a situation of social vulnerability.
People who lived in areas at risk due to heavy rains also received housing. It is worth noting that the draw took place live and by the city hall of Maceió.
How were the houses distributed?
There are 257 apartments in total in the Santos Dumont neighborhood of Maceió. 192 of these homes are in the Mário Peixoto I residential complex and the other 65 in Mário Peixoto II. There are also 122 more apartments in Mário Peixoto II, which will be selected by lottery later.
What are the new rules of My House My Life?
As stated before, MCMV announced that beneficiaries will no longer need to pay installments of housing program. This applies to those who receive Bolsa Família or BCP (Continuous Benefit Payment).
This new feature came into effect on September 28th and those who signed the contract before this date will already be exempt from future installments. Therefore, those who signed the contract after this date will undergo an assessment of eligibility by Caixa.
Another new feature besides the exemption from the program's installment is that the MCMV income brackets have now been expanded. In other words, the program will now reach even more people who dream of owning their own home.
