Government launches “Come Back on Top” program
In Rio Grande do Sul, the “Volta por Cima” program emerged after several locations suffered from heavy rains and flooding in early September. Thus, the program aims to provide financial assistance to families whose homes were damaged.
Depending on the extent of the damage, those affected may receive a Pix from the government. Those who had to leave their homes will receive R$2,500, while families with material damage to their properties will receive R$700 to help with repair costs.
Who is eligible for government Pix?
To be eligible for the government’s Pix, individuals must reside in one of the areas declared to be in a state of calamity or emergency, be registered with CadÚnico as poor or extremely poor, and have their information provided to the program by the local city hall. Currently, several city halls are conducting assessments to determine eligible beneficiaries.
Those interested in registering for the “Come Back” program must go to the registration centers in their cities with the necessary documents in hand, including CPF, Social Registration Card (NIS) and proof of residence.
There are expectations that a new decree will be issued soon, expanding the number of cities whose residents are eligible to receive Pix from government. This is a crucial step in ensuring that financial aid reaches everyone struggling in the wake of devastating climate events. So check if you’re eligible and get your situation in order.
