In recent days, the South and Southeast regions have been impacted by heavy rains. In view of this, the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) authorized the advance payment of Bolsa Família to municipalities that have declared a state of emergency.
In addition, the department will also be able to deliver basic food baskets to families affected by the rains. Furthermore, on Friday (22), the MDS held a meeting with representatives from 90 municipalities at greatest risk and released R$ 20 thousand for every 50 homeless people taken in by the local government. However, it is important to highlight that Bolsa Família beneficiaries who do not reside in cities where a state of emergency has been declared will receive the benefit according to the official calendar of the social program, which follows the last digit of the Social Identification Number (NIS) of the beneficiary. Payment amount
Finally, check out the Bolsa Família additions that vary according to the composition of the family unit:
- Early Childhood Benefit (BPI): additional R$ 150 for children from zero to seven years old;
- Family Variable Benefit (BVF): additional R$ 50 for pregnant women and children and adolescents aged 7 to 18 years;
- Variable Family Benefit for Nursing Mothers (BVN): additional R$ 50 for babies up to seven months old (nursing mothers).
Furthermore, in April, around 5 million families will receive National Gas Aid to purchase a 13kg cooking gas cylinder.
