Last Friday (22), the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) announced that municipalities that declared an emergency due to the storms that hit different parts of Brazil can request an advance payment of Bolsa Família.
The initiative aims to ensure that Bolsa Família reaches the affected families more quickly. In addition, the federal government will also deliver food baskets to the affected families, ensuring food security for these Brazilians who are suffering from the consequences of the heavy rains of last week. Delivery of medicines
Furthermore, also with the aim of assisting families affected by the rains, this Saturday (23), the Ministry of Health announced that the state or municipality that declared an emergency or public calamity may request the sending of medicine kits and also technicians to monitor local health systems.
The kit contains 32 types of medicines and 16 types of supplies, such as bandages, gloves and syringes. The material is sufficient to care for around 1,500 people for a month. In addition, the Ministry of Health has allocated R$1.5 billion for emergencies related to disaster situations due to climate change.
April Family Grant
However, it is worth noting that families who do not reside in places where a state of emergency or calamity has been declared will receive Bolsa Família for the month of April according to the official calendar, which follows the last digit of the Social Identification Number (NIS) of the beneficiary.
