The Minha Casa Minha Vida program, in its 2024 edition, brings exciting news for Bolsa Família beneficiaries. Announced by the Ministry of Cities, the program exempts these beneficiaries from the costs of housing financing.

Therefore, this action represents a significant step towards social inclusion and strengthening affordable housing policies in Brazil. See who can benefit from this and see more details about the program.

Who is entitled to My House My Life?

To apply for free housing through the program, interested parties must meet specific criteria. The program primarily focuses on low-income families, women who are responsible for the household, victims of domestic violence and homeless people.

Therefore, the requirements include being registered in the Single Registry with updated data, having a family income of a maximum of R$2,640 per month, not having other real estate financing and not having previous debts in the Minha Casa Minha Vida program.

Enrollment

Interested parties must register with the local city hall when new housing developments are announced. In other words, after submitting the necessary documents to Caixa Econômica Federal, they wait for the property to be released and the financing to be approved.

Therefore, for those who have already registered and signed the contract, there is automatic exemption from the next installments of the financing, also benefiting recipients of Bolsa Família or the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC).

In this way, this initiative highlights the government's commitment to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable population, providing the opportunity to have their own home without additional costs.

What are the income brackets for My Home My Life?

It is important to highlight that the income ranges of the housing program are urban and rural:

Urban areas

  • First band: monthly income of up to R$ 2,640;
  • Second band: monthly income from R$ 2,640.01 to R$ 4,400
  • Third band: monthly income from R$ 4,400.01 to R$ 8,000.

Rural areas

  • First band: annual income of up to R$31,680;
  • Second band: annual income from R$ 31,608.01 to R$ 52,800
  • Third band: annual income from R$ 52,800 to R$ 96,000.

In addition, another new development may be about to happen, as the government is studying the possibility of extending the income brackets even further. The measure, if it comes into effect, will make the dream of owning a home available to more people.
