Eligibility and requirements for Minha Casa Minha Vida

To participate in the MCMV, families must meet certain criteria. Firstly, they must not own any property in their name. In addition, priority is given to the delivery of properties to women, especially those responsible for the family unit.

Other families that have priority are those that include:

  • People with disabilities;
  • Elderly;
  • Children and adolescents.

Furthermore, families in situations of risk, vulnerability, involuntarily displaced due to federal public works or homeless are also considered.

Requirements vary by area, as they are divided into urban and rural. For residents of rural areas, the annual family income must be up to R$$ 96 thousand, while for those in urban areas, the monthly gross income must be up to R$$ 8 thousand.

What are the income brackets for My Home My Life?

It is important to highlight that the income ranges of the housing program are urban and rural:

Urban areas

  • First band: monthly income of up to R$ 2,640;
  • Second band: monthly income from R$ 2,640.01 to R$ 4,400
  • Third band: monthly income from R$ 4,400.01 to R$ 8,000.

Rural areas

  • First band: annual income of up to R$31,680;
  • Second band: annual income from R$ 31,608.01 to R$ 52,800
  • Third band: annual income from R$ 52,800 to R$ 96,000.

In addition, another new development may be about to happen, as the government is studying the possibility of extending the income brackets even further. The measure, if it comes into effect, will make the dream of owning a home available to more people.
