Starting March 1st of next year, the Employment Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) will undergo a significant change in its payment system. From that date onwards, payments will be made exclusively through Pix. However, it is important to note that until January 13th, the new system will be in the testing phase.
This transition aims to improve efficiency and security in payments, with the expectation that employers will start using Pix exclusively as a payment method. The main objective of this measure is to mitigate possible tax evasion practices, providing greater transparency and control in transactions related to the FGTS.

More details about the new feature
The testing phase until January 13 will allow for necessary adjustments and checks to ensure the transition to the new system starting in March. During this period, employers and other stakeholders will be able to adapt to the use of Pix to make FGTS payments.
In addition to this new feature, it is important to understand the different types of FGTS available to Brazilian workers. Among them, the anniversary withdrawal and the severance withdrawal stand out. Each type meets the different circumstances and needs of workers, providing flexibility and accessibility to resources.
FGTS Digital, what is it?
With so much technology, the FGTS has not been left out of the digital age and will launch this tool that will make life much easier for business owners and workers. This is because this technology will speed up the fulfillment of companies' obligations.
This is because many employers fail to deposit the amounts to their employees, which is very serious, since employees use this money for cases of unfair dismissal, retirement, serious illnesses, or to buy their own home. So, with the FGTS Digital, the idea is to reduce tax evasion.
Furthermore, the Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, highlighted that the creation of this digital tool should reduce the amount of work companies do in collecting amounts by up to 34 hours per month. Therefore, with this new feature, deposits can be made via Pix and there will be more transparency in the process.
