The Single Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico) is an essential tool of the Brazilian government. This is because it is intended to identify low-income families for inclusion in social and income redistribution programs.
Created in October 2001, CadÚnico has been a pillar in the implementation of public policies aimed at improving the quality of life of these families. Recently, a new feature has emerged that could further expand the scope of this registry: the possibility of guaranteeing jobs for registered users.

Employment opportunities through CadÚnico
THE Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) announced the launch of a new social program focused on reducing poverty in Brazil. Thus, this program's main objective is to promote job creation and entrepreneurship training, specifically for citizens registered with CadÚnico.
Through a platform integrated with the gov.br portal, applicants will be able to search for job openings according to their location. Companies such as Coca-Cola, Carrefour and Grupo Mateus have already joined the initiative, offering job opportunities to CadÚnico candidates.
Training and entrepreneurship
In addition to facilitating access to job vacancies, the “Poverty Reduction” program also focuses on training for entrepreneurship. Institutions such as Sebrae are involved in providing the necessary support, allowing those registered in the Single Registry to develop entrepreneurial skills.
With 28 million people registered with CadÚnico, the program has a vast target audience, including around 12 million who already work as freelancers and who could benefit greatly from the training offered.
Who benefits?
The program is a significant opportunity for the millions of people registered with CadÚnico, opening doors to formal employment and entrepreneurship. With a focus on vocational training, employment and entrepreneurship, the program aims to take a holistic approach to combat poverty and promote socioeconomic development.
In short, CadÚnico is expanding beyond a mere registry for social programs, transforming itself into a tool for empowerment and generation of employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for the low-income population in Brazil.
