BPC – Continuous Benefit Provision – is a benefit that provides assistance to people in situations of social vulnerability. It is intended for people with disabilities (physical, mental, sensory) of any age and for seniors over 65 years of age.
But after all, does the BPC guarantee a thirteenth salary? The answer is no. The BPC is not a social security benefit (like retirement, for example). In fact, to receive the BPC, it is not even necessary to contribute to the INSS.
Therefore, beneficiaries are not entitled to a thirteenth salary nor do they leave a Survivor's Pension.

What is needed to receive BPC
First of all, BPC requires registration in the Single Registry. This is a registry that gathers information about recipients of various social benefits. Registration can be done at a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS).
As already mentioned, this is a benefit for people who are part of low-income families. This means that it is aimed at families that have a monthly income of up to 1/4 of the minimum wage per member.
It is also worth mentioning that the BPC aims to assist citizens who no longer have the capacity to work. This means that, in the case of a person with a disability, it is necessary to prove that it is a disabling illness.
How to apply for the benefit
You can request the BPC directly online. This, of course, after you are registered in the Single Registry. To make the request, you must access the website from My INSS or download the mobile application, available for Android and for iOS.
You must then log in to the platform using your Gov.br account; enter your CPF and password. Then, in the app menu, look for the “New request” option. Then, look for the “Welfare Benefits” tab.
Finally, simply select the benefit and follow the platform's other instructions to complete the transaction.
