Despite the curiosity and frequent inquiries, the Federal Government has so far indicated that there are no plans to include a 13th salary in the program. Despite the absence of a thirteenth salary at the federal level, some state initiatives have emerged as a relief. A notable example was the Government of Pernambuco, which, in June 2023, provided an additional allowance, similar to a thirteenth salary, to families enrolled in Bolsa Família in its territory.
This bonus, worth R$ 150.00, benefited those who had been in the program for at least six months in the previous year, representing significant assistance for many families.

Although the issue of the thirteenth payment remains undefined in most states, beneficiaries should stay alert. This is because the installment payments may be made in the coming months. In October 2023, payments are scheduled to begin on the 18th for beneficiaries with NIS ending in 1, continuing until the 31st for those with NIS ending in 0. Therefore, in times of economic uncertainty, staying informed is essential for effective financial planning.
Confirmation of the 13th Bolsa Família payment in 2023 is still not a nationwide reality. However, isolated initiatives in some states offer a hopeful outlook. It is crucial that beneficiaries continue to follow official updates and plan their finances based on the program's regular payments.
