Financial education is very important for both adults and children. With this in mind, professionals from Sicoob Credip visited 16 locations in Mato Grosso. The idea was to promote financial education for students from preschool through the 5th grade of elementary school.
Thus, 25 public schools received the team of professionals. Around 8,300 students took part in the initiative; see more details about the action below.

Financial education in schools
The professionals taught the children basic financial education concepts through storytelling. Therefore, these stories addressed the following topics:
- Financial planning;
- Conscious use of money;
- Difference between needs and wants;
- The importance of saving;
- The value of money.
The team used the book “Caio found a little coin”, from a collection by Instituto Sicoob. The work is about a boy who saved money to fulfill his dream. Thus, it is worth highlighting that all the children received a book from Sicoob’s Financinhas collection.

Vigtigheden af økonomisk uddannelse i barndommen
At lære at håndtere økonomi fra en tidlig alder er meget positivt, da disse børn i fremtiden vil få et godt forhold til penge. Med andre ord vil det ikke være et problem at tage sig af budgettet i fremtiden, så længe børnene fra en tidlig alder lærer at værdsætte penge.
Ifølge Sicoobs analytiker for kooperativ udvikling, Samuel Trevenzoli, fremmer initiativet også læsning. Derfor mener han, at projektet ud over at undervise i “vigtige begreber” tilskynder til læsevanen.
Han fremhævede også, at denne kombination er afgørende for, at eleverne når voksenlivet med “selvtillid og viden”.
